Overnight French Toast
Ingredients:
- 1 loaf French bread
- 4 Tbs butter
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 4 eggs – beaten
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Directions:
- Prepare night before serving
- Cut bread into 3/4″ slices
- Melt butter & brown sugar, stir constantly
- Pour into 9″ x 13″ baking dish
- Lay bread slices on top
- Combine beaten eggs, milk, & cinnamon
- Pour over bread
- Cover with foil
- Refrigerate overnight
- Preheat oven to 350 F in the morning
- Uncover baking
- Bake for 25-30 minute
- Serve with fruit
Note: Recipe is sweet enough with brown sugar, maple syrup topping isn’t needed. I did top with fresh raspberries and blackberries – a perfect combination with this french toast recipe. For a sweeter topping, we did try hazelnut butter with a touch of chocolate. Another great combination.
